Bundesliga
Dortmund's dogged display

Borussia Dortmund produced a sterling comeback to defeat SV Hamburg 3-2 at the Westfalen Stadium with a hectic five-minute goal bonanza. In Sunday's other match, Bayer Leverkusen missed the chance to return to the Bundesliga summit following a 0-0 draw with Kaiserslautern. Hosts Dortmund looked set for a third consecutive defeat - following losses to VfL Bochum and Borussia Monchengladbach - after going two goals behind. Strikes from Bastian Reinhardt and Argentine Bernardo Romeo put Hamburg in control on the hour mark but three goals in five crazy minutes saw Dortmund completely turn the tables. Czech marksman Jan Koller reduced the arrears in the 64th minute and then sensationally levelled from the penalty spot 120 seconds later after a mistimed tackle from Tomas Ujfalusi. The 75,000 fans at the Westfalen Stadium were rubbing their eyes in disbelief when Brazilian Ewerthon made it 3-2 with his 69th minute header sending the supporters into a state of delirium. Matthias Sammer kept his record of never having lost against SV Hamburg in his managerial career while Hamburg's awful run of 11 months without an away win in the Bundesliga dragged on. Klaus Toppmoller was also left waiting for his first Bundesliga win as manager of Hamburg and pondering how his side threw away another two-goal lead just like in last Saturday's 2-2 draw with Schalke 04. Leverkusen slipped to second after drawing 0-0 with Kaiserslautern at the Fritz-Walter Stadium. It was a game of numerous chances but poor finishing from both sides starved the fans of a goal. Brazilian Franca went close twice in the first period for Bayer while the hosts looked dangerous on the counter attack and Miroslav Klose could have won the match for Kaiserslautern.
