"We've discussed some major issues which should not be disclosed here," Saifur told newsmen as they approached following the meeting, held at his Planning Ministry office.

He, however, said they had talks on some multilateral and bilateral issues, including due payment of American suppliers from the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh.

Harry said they talked US support for Bangladesh's programme on poverty reduction and ensuring transparency. "It's (discussion on transparency) private," said the US envoy.

He also condoled the death of the Finance Minister's wife.
