Four armed youths fired at Shah Alam alias Rinku, a student of Chittagong Law College and former leader of Patiya College unit BCL, from a CNG three-wheeler when he was standing by the road after iftar, witnesses said.

Doctors at Patiya health complex declared him dead. Local Jubo Dal cadres killed Rinku, alleged a leader of local Awami League.

The BCL brought out a protest procession and marched different streets of Patiya, sources said.
