Youth slaughtered in Chittagong


An youth was slaughtered in an internal feud of an extremist group at Raozan upazila in the early hours of yesterday.

The victim was identified as Shah Alam, 22, son of Khalequzzaman of Harishkhine.

A welding worker, he was an accomplice of Jane Alam, a top-notch listed extremist who was allegedly involved in the killing.

Police said an armed gang led by Jane Alam called Shah Alam out of his house and took him to a brick kiln at Purba Raozan at around 3.00am.

The body of Shah Alam was recovered from nearby Haranath canal in the morning.

Sources said, Shah Alam recently developed an enmity with Jane Alam for unknown reason.

Jane Alam also killed his another associate a few months back, sources added.

A case was filed in this connection.
