Fire at Hazaribagh tannery

A devastating fire broke out at a tannery at Hazaribagh in the city on Sunday evening. A huge quantity of tannery chemicals, spare parts and tanned leather were gutted in the fire at the Bay Tanneries Ltd. An electrical short circuit in the spray room of the factory sparked off the fire, sources said. Firefighters with the help of locals brought the blaze under control after an hour-long struggle.
