Police said one Abdul Hakim, 45, son of Abdul Wahab of Choubaria village in the Sadar upazila allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a branch of a tree near his residence after Sehri on Saturday. The cause of his suicide could not be known.

Shyamnoli Mollik, 12, daughter of Kartik Mollik of Guruguri village under Assassuni upazila, ended her life by hanging herself from a bar at her reading room. The incident took place following an altercation with her mother on Saturday night.

On the same night, Amol Kumar Ghosh, 30, son of Bhobendra Nath Ghosh of village Hadipur under Debhata Upazila, committed suicide by hanging himself with a rope at his house after an altercation with his wife.

Proshanjit Mondal,10, son of Dinesh Mondal of village Horinagar under Shymanagar Upazila and a student of class five killed himself by taking poison.
