14-year RI for Phensidyl trader in Meherpur


One person was sentenced to 14 years rigorous imprisonment (RI) by a special tribunal court here for pursuing illegal Phensidyl business on Saturday.

Session Judge, Meherpur M Jalal Uddin also fined the convict Tk 10,000, in default, to suffer an additional RI for six months.

Police raided the house of Tony, 28, a resident of Boshpara in the town on March 4, 200 and arrested him with 25 bottles of Indian contraband Phensidyl syrup.
