2 killed in road accidents in B'baria


A retired schoolteacher and another persons were killed in two road accidents in the town and at Saril on Monday.

Police said Karimunnesa Begum, 58, retired teacher of Annada Government High School and wife of Md. Muzibur Rahman, vice-principal of Brahmanbaria Government College, died under the wheel of a truck. She was returning home from a Iftar Mahfil when the truck knocked down her rickshaw from behind at Maddyapara in Brahmanbaria town.

They truck sped away. No case was filed till filling the report yesterday.

In the other mishap in Sarail, banana vendor Abdul Zalil was fatally injured when hit by a bus on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway at Shahbazpur. He died at Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital.

People caught the driver and handed him over to police. A case has been filed with Sarial thana.
