BDR thwarts push-in bid

Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) on Tuesday night pushed back four Indian nationals at Barokhata border with India in Hatibandha upazila.

The Bangla speaking Indians are Nur Mohammad Shaikh, 35, his wife Manowara Begum, 28, and their daughters Rubi, 11, and Marzina, 8, of Sanjumar Colony of Delhi, said sources in the BDR and police.

The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) pushed in the four through Dorapara at Barokhata on November 29.

Police arrested and sent them to a court, which directed the authorities to push back the arrestees.

Nur Mohammad said they have been living in a slum at Sanjumar in Delhi for 15 years and their daughters study at a school there.
