JCD to observe silver jubilee on Jan 1

The Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) will observe silver jubilee on January 1 on the occasion of its 25th founding anniversary, says a press release.The JCD, student wing of the ruling BNP, has taken a 15-day programme to mark the day. The programmes include hoisting of organisation flag at its central office, distribution of sweets and cutting of cakes in the early hours of the January 1. LGRD and Co-operatives Minister and BNP Secretary General Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan will be the chief guest. Later, Prime Minister Khaleda Zia will speak as chief guest at its discussion meeting at the central party office. The discussion will be followed by a cultural function. The Dhaka University unit will bring out a colourful procession on the campus on January, Dhaka Metropolitan (North) unit will organise a discussion meeting and a cultural function on January 5, Dhaka Metropolitan (South) will organise the same programmes on January 7. Jagannath University unit will organise a discussion meeting followed by a cultural function on January 9, DU unit on January 11, and Jahangirnagar University on January 13. Reunion of former JCD leaders will be held on January 15 where Senior Joint Secretary General of the BNP Tarique Rahman will be the chief guest.
