All the members of the Saarc comprising Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan and the Maldives will observe the Charter Day on December 8, the day of signing Saarc charter 18 years ago.

The competition will be held in two categories -- one for 4-9 age group and the other for 10-14 group, a SAIC press release said.

The subject for the minor group will remain opened but the 10-14 year age group members have to compete with arts on 'agriculture in SAARC countries'.

SAIC, the first regional centre under the aegis of Saarc has taken up various programmes in observance of the Charter Day-2003. Those include discussion, book fair, video shows on transfer of agricultural technologies, illuminations and children's art competition.
