Shahjahan given additional charge of BSS

The information ministry yesterday gave one of its joint secretaries the additional charge of the managing director and chief editor of state-run BSS news agency for an interim period.Official sources said Mohammad Shahjahan, joint secretary (administration and press), was given the charge of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha on expiry of the contractual service of Amanullah Kabir. Sources said a hectic lobbying from in and outside the BSS got underway ahead of the expiry of Kabir's tenure.
