Party men sue Gen Secy Jalil, 4 Netrakona AL leaders

Presidents and secretaries of eight ward committees of Netrakona poura (municipality) Awami League (AL) filed a case against the party general secretary Abdul Jalil and four local leaders at Judge Court on Monday. The cases were filed following dissolution of the newly-formed committees by the party central committee. The four local leaders are Fazlur Rahman Khan, district president of the party, Advocate Amirul Islam, its secretary, Emdadul Haque, president of the party's pourasabha unit and its secretary Habibur Rahman. According to the defendants, the eight ward committees were formed recently as per constitution of the party. But the party central committee dissolved the committees by violating the Constitution. After the hearing the court sent show-cause notices to the five accused. Meanwhile, the conference of the district unit of the party will be held on December 31.
