10 cops hurt in Faridpur road mishap


Ten policemen including one Sub Inspector and an Assistant Sub Inspected of Kotwali thana were injured as their patrol vehicle skidded off the Sree Angan bridge in the town and fell into a canal on Thursday.

Police constables Abdur Razzak and Selim Mridha were sent to Dhaka with critical injuries and Sub Inspector Nasim was admitted to a private clinic in the town.

The other injured constables were admitted to Faridpur Medical College hospital with multiple injuries.

An accused in a murder case --Mustahar--, who was in the vehicle, was also injured.

Police said when the police van approached the bridge at around 2-30 am, another vehicle from opposite direction climbed on the bridge. The focus of headlight of the other vehicle blurred the vision of the police van and caused the accident.
