Body of youth recovered

Badda police yesterday recovered the decomposed body of an unidentified young man yesterday.Locals informed police about a suspicious sack at East Khilbarirtek in Badda at around 3:00pm. Police opened the sack and found the body of a youth, aged between 25 to 30, police said. Identity of the man clad in striped lungi and black shirt could not be known as the body decomposed beyond recognition, police added. The man was murdered at least a week ago, police suspect. In another incident Friday night, muggers slaughtered a street vendor and alleged fellow member of their gang at East Goran in Khilgaon. Some teenagers including Moti, member of Pagla Monir group, called Belayet, 20, a potato chips seller and alleged member of the same group, out of a video games shop at Banasree Project at around 8:00pm. Other gang members including Jamal, Babu, Jalal, Munna, Shahidul and Badal were also waiting outside the shop. Later, they took Belayet to No. 8 lane and slaughtered him, family sources said. The victim's cousin, Monir Hossain, and nephew Liton, who accompanied him to the shop, found Belayet's slaughtered body inside a bush at the end of the lane. "As he did not return after half an hour, we entered into the lane to look for him and found his body lying in a pool of blood and three bloodstained knives left beside," Monir said at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). On information, the victim's sisters -- Bithi and Nazma -- recovered the body with the help of police. Police later sent it to the DMCH for autopsy. Khilgaon police arrested Badal at East Goran on the same night for his alleged involvement in the killing.
