Pakshey Bridge likely to open for traffic in March

Traffic movement over Pakshey Bridge is expected to begin in next March, three months ahead of the schedule.The physical work along with river training and approach road construction on both sides of the bridge have already been completed, construction engineers and the communications ministry sources said yesterday. The construction of the 1.8-km bridge over the Padma began on January 13, 2001. It will establish direct road links between Rajshahi and Khulna divisions, which have direct rail communications.
