A team leaving tonight

The Bangladesh A team will leave Dhaka tonight for the Pakistani city of Karachi on a seven-week tour.The second string national side will take part in the final round of the Inter Department Cricket Cham-pionship (Patron's Trophy and Patron's Cup). The A team would take on Defence Housing Authority (DHA) in their opening match a limited overs game -- at the Karachi National Stadium on December 14. Both teams will then play a four-day First class match starting from the following day as per the format of the competition. 12 office teams of Pakistan are appearing in the final round along with Bangladesh A, divided into two groups. Bangladesh have been put in Group A along with Defence Housing Authority (DHA), Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), Customs, Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda), Khan Research Labs (KRL) and Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL). Group B consists of Agriculture Development Bank of Pakistan, Karachi Port Trust (KPT), Sui Gas Corporation of Pakistan, Allied Bank, National Bank of Pakistan and Habib Bank Limited. Seven players of the A side-- Mushfiqur Rahman (captain), Hannan Sarker, Moniruzzaman, Rajin Saleh, Manjarul Islam, Jamaluddin and Anwar Hossain Munir will return home in the first week of the New Year after playing the opening three matches to join the Bangladesh team's camp for the tour of Zimbabwe. The camp is scheduled to start from January 4.
