Kalindi High in semis


A superb all-round performance from Milan propelled Kalindi High School of Keraniganj to the semifinal of the World Cup School Cricket Tournament.

Milan took three wickets and then chipped in with 30 as the team from Bangladesh raced to a seven wicket win over a local private school in a quarterfinal in India's capital New Delhi yesterday.

Kalindi High School, chasing 113 in 40 overs, reached 114 for three in 24.2 overs with Alamgir Rana (47) top-scoring.

Earlier, batting first, the home side were all out for 113 in 34 overs with Indrajeet making the highest 42.

Milan was the main wicket-taker with three for 15.

In another quarterfinal match, Hyderabad Anand High School beat Willes Little Flower School of Dhaka by four wickets.
