Poetry festival begins in Kolkata tomorrow
The second Souhardyo Kavita Utsav will begin in the West Bengal capital of Kolkata tomorrow, says a press release.More than 12 Bangladeshi poets of the seventies will take part in the festival. Organised by the Souhardyo Sottor of Kolkata, the two-day poetry festival will be inaugurated by poet Nirendranath Chakraborty at Bangla Academy at Nandan Chattar. The second day's programme will be held at the Great Eastern Hotel. The Bangladeshi poets are Shihab Sarkar, Mahbub Hassan, Faruk Mahmud, Atahar Khan, Abu Karim, Kamal Chowdhury, Mujibul Huq Kabir, Bimal Guha, Mohon Raihan, Zarina Akhtar, Saifullah Mahmud Dulal, Shahzadi Anjuman Ara, Mahbub Bari, Tridib Dastidar, Jahangir Firoz and Iqbal Aziz. Indian poets Sunil Ganguly, Samarendra Sengupta and Dibbyendu Palit and filmmaker Mrinal Sen will also attend the festival.
