Shonkranti by Aranyak
Two plays will be staged today-- Aranyak's Shonkranti at the Mahila Samity Mancha and dance drama Mahua by Nrittanchal at the National Theatre Stage at Gulistan.

Shonkranti: Shonkranti by the famous playwright of the country, Mamun ur Rashid is based on folk narratives widely popular in the greater Mymensingh region of Bangladesh.


Dance drama Mahua by Nrittanchal

Mahua is a musical dance drama taken from the treasures of our folk tales of Mymensigh Geetika. Shahidul Islam has adapted the play. Mohua, a famous folk tale, presented in the form of 'Pala' or a narrative verse has been sung by Boyatis over generations. Tapan Dey directs the music of the dance drama.
