Biman Div One chess champs


Bangladesh Biman retained their First Division Chess League title beating Kamlapur Samaj Kalayan and Krira Sangha in the last round at the NSC auditorium yesterday.

The national flag carrier side finished the table with 50 points to win their 11th title.

Grand Master Ziaur Rahman , IM Reefat Bin Sattar, IM Abdullah Al Rakib, IM Enamul Hossain Razib, FM Rezaul Haque and IWM Rani Hamid played for Biman.

Star-studded Leonine Chess Club with three Grand Masters became runners-up securing 48.5 points.

GM Alexei Barsov, GM Alexander Fominyh, GM Niaz Murshed, Abdul Maleq, Md Monjur Alam and Rafiqul Islam played for Leonine.

Bangladesh Ansar finished third with 41.5 points.
