Trifling matter costs one life, leaves 20 hurt in Brahmanbaria


A trifling matter cost one life and left 20 injured in a clash at Hussenpur village in the Sadar upazila on Friday.

According to eye witness, police and hospital sources, one person jokingly rebuked another. But he took it otherwise and angrily protested it.

They were locked in a brawl, which drew their neighbours, who fuelled the conflict instead of cooling down them.

The rival groups clashed with sticks and whatever they had in hand.

Three of the injured-- Abdul Awal, 50, Darev Mia, 30 and Kadir Mia, 55-- were admitted to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital and the rest were give first aid.

Abdul Awal, son of Kazil Uddin, succumbed to his injuries after at the hospital.

Police said body was handed over to relatives after autopsy at the hospital.

A case has been filed with Brahmanbaria Sadar police.
