'Ka', again

Taslima is a name, a debate. Every day newspapers are coming up with at least one write-up or letter on her. But why? Why people feel so aggrieved? Is it that she has unveiled untold stories about some of our leading intellectuals? Don't we know about their lifestyles? Many have written on their lifestyles. Most often we see these in newspapers . But, Taslima's book is a special one! I think it's because she is a 'no-man' and certainly doesn't possess the right to bring 'private' matters into public. If a girl is required to tell her rape story before a judge, who is certainly not a private person and newspapers can bring the story on the front page, why you bother this time? Her book contains some emotional and touchy episodes also, especially I love the lines and thoughts regarding 'Rudra'. Why don't you people talk about these? Syed Haq, whose honour is worth only Tk 10 crore, has made it clear that he is a 'valuable asset'. Give him more than 10 crore and tarnish his image! Taslima has rightly pointed her finger towards the patriarchy not to one Haq or Milon. An unceasing debate and criticism suggests that people are interested in the issue. Their value system is hurt. Mr Haq, if you have the courage write a book and a give her an answer but don't try to snatch away the freedom of her pen.
