BNP leader Wazed Ali dead

Wazed Ali Biswas, a BNP leader and former member of parliament, died of a cardiac arrest at his residence in the city yesterday at 56.He was the owner of now-defunct Khulna-based Dainik Janatar Khabar and president of Kaliganj upazila unit of BNP. A frozen shrimp exporter, Wazed Ali was awarded National Export Trophy (gold medal) by Prime Minister Khaleda Zia on December 18. He also received President's Medal for his contribution to agriculture, education and social services in Satkhira district. He is survived by his wife, three sons and one daughter.
