Rivals kill 3 outlaws in Pabna


Three underground operatives were hacked to death following a gunfight with their rival party men at Borobeel Hatirgara village under Faridpur upazila of the district yesterday morning.

The dead are Nazrul Islam, 30, Ilu Fahkir, 28 and Maznu Pramanik, 35. All of them hailed from Hadal Union of the upazila.

Police and locals said the clash erupted at about 11:00am as a sequel to previous rivalry between the two groups.

The feuding groups traded gun shots and exploded crackers during the clash that lasted for an hour.

At one stage, one group retreated with three bullet-injured operatives. But their rivals chased them and managed to catch the injured three. They slit their throats and left the scene.

On information, police rushed to the spot, recovered the bodies and sent them to Pabna General Hospital for autopsy.

Additional police have been deployed in the village. A tense situation was prevailing in the area. No case was filed till the filing of the report at 6:30pm.
