Dr Zafar Iqbal wins Sheltech Award

Dr Zafar Iqbal, a noted science fiction writer and chairman of the department of computer science of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, has been selected for the Sheltech Award 2003.The award ceremony will be held next month. Instituted in 1998, the award carries Tk 50,000 and a crest. The noted personalities who received Sheltech Awards in previous years are poet Shamsur Rahman, singer Kalim Sharafi, artist Qayyum Chowdhury, singer Firoza Begum and litterateur Selina Hossain.
