By-election to Kushtia-1 JS seat Feb 29

The by-election to the Kushtia-1 seat of the Jatiya Sangsad will be held on February 29.The seat fell vacant following the death of former state minister Mohammad Ahsanul Haque Mollah, MP. The Election Commission (EC) in a gazette notification yesterday announced the polls schedule. As per schedule, the last date for submission of nomination papers is January 24, scrutiny of the nomination papers on January 25 and withdrawal of nominations on February 8. The EC in a separate gazette notification appointed the deputy commissioner of Kushtia returning officer and the upazila nirbahi officer of Daulatpur assistant returning officer to conduct the election.
