BCDF move into C'wealth final

A superb unbeaten 86 by Sheikh Nizamuddin powered Bangladesh Cricket Development Foundation (BCDF) to a brilliant three-wicket victory over India in the first semifinal of Under-19 Commonwealth Championship at the Raja Nahar Singh Cricket Stadium in Faridabad, Haryana yesterday.Electing to bat the hosts scored 213-8. BCDF replied with 219 for 7 in 49 overs. The visitors will play in Sunday's final against the winners of the other seminfinal between South Africa and Kenya, which will be played today. The Bangladeshis made a sensational plundering 20 runs off the first over as they chased 214 for victory. Man-of-the-match Nizam thrilled the crowd with some lusty hitting. Skipper Habib with 28 and Rahman 26 supported him. Faisal, who had earlier rocked the Indians with four for 28, struck the winning run in style with a six over mid-on. He made a breezy 17. Earlier, the Indian openers were going at six runs an over in the first 10 overs before Faisal did the damage. On their way to the final the Bangladeshis beat Sri Lanka by four wickets in the last group match, a curtailed 31-over encounter, played at the Terry Oval Stadium in Gurgaon, Haryana on Wednesday. The Sri Lankans were all out for 141 while the Bangladeshis made 143-6.
