The Economics Department defeated Chemistry Department by 32 runs in the inaugural match of the Inter-department Cricket Championship of Jahangirnagar University at its central playground yesterday.Batting first, Economics made 179-6 in the allotted 25 overs with Masum scoring highest 62 while Babu added 43. Shaheed captured four wickets for Chemistry conceding only 20 runs. In reply, Chemistry scored 147-5 with Shameem top scoring with 63. Bulbul took two wickets giving away 33 runs for Economics.
