Kaba comforts Arambagh

A 30th-minute goal from Liberian striker Mustafa Kaba gave Arambagh Krira Sangha a 1-nil victory over Victoria Sporting Club in the Western Union Premier Division Football League at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur yesterday.The win also put Arambagh in the third position along with giants Abahani Krira Chakra with 14 points on completion of their ninth first-leg match. Abahani however have one match in hand. Kaba scored the all-important goal heading home a beautiful cross from compatriot Dominic. The game was played in a foggy condition and was marked by physical displays. Referee Faizul Islam had to caution seven players including five Victoria booters to tackle the boiling atmosphere in the battle of two lightweights. The defeat left Victoria glued to their previous collection of 10 points at the end of their first round campaign. Yellow cards: Afzal, Polo, Sharif, Soum and Fakrul (Victoria), Oeinu and Kaba (Arambagh).
