Western Union Senior Division Football League
MSC decision after BFF emergency meeting

Mohammedan Sporting Club will wait for the outcome of the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF)'s emergency meeting today before taking their final decision on whether to continue with their boycott of the Western Union Premier Division Football League or return to the playing field.

In a press release yesterday, the club said that the BFF officials have assured Mohammedan that they will take necessary measures in line with their demands which includes revoking Dhaka Mahanagari Football League Committee (DMFLC)'s decision to award Muktijoddha Sangsad full points from their unfinished January 15 match.

Talking to The Daily Star Sport, Mohammedan's secretary Lokman Hossain Bhuiyan said that although they were supposed to announce their decision yesterday, they have take another day's time as the BFF will discuss their case in the emergency meeting on Saturday afternoon.

"They (BFF) have promised to take some actions based on our demands. We wanted the goal scored by Muktijoddha in that game disallowed and also asked for proper disciplinary measures against the referee. That's why we want to wait until the meeting is over," said Lokman.

However, BFF general secretary Anwarul Haque Helal denied Lokman's claim that they would disallow the goal.

"No one has the authority to change the verdict of the referee no matter how wrong it may be. So we can not cancel that goal. Besides, we also can not take action against the referee because it is the matter of Referee's Association to review the performance of the officials," said Helal.

Helal admitted that the emergency meeting has been called only to discuss the Mohammedan issue and expressed his hopes for a positive solution.

The DMFLC, in an emergency meeting on Wednesday evening, postponed all the matches of the league until today (January 24).
