Bachelor promises of high time in Bangla film

Perhaps it's time to say 'Good-bye' to the cliché melodramatic dhishoom-dhishoom movies. At least, one hopes so if filmmakers like Farooki come forwards and make films like Bachelor.

Impress Telefilm Ltd. released its much discussed movie Bachelor at the Balaka cinema hall yesterday in presence of a crowd of curious audience. Written by Anisul Haque and directed by Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, the film seems potential enough to rouse among the middle class audience a wave of interest in Bangla cinema again.

Presenting a part of the cast from the duo's popular drama series Ekannaborti, Bachelor also marks the debut for a number of promising actors in film.

The story involves a group of bachelor youths living in a flat who, however, are almost dying for falling in love. The film also projects the present trend of love relationship especially among the young generation.

Among the performers Humayun Faridi, Ferdous, Ahmed Rubel and Aupi Karim are excellent. Others, especially the debutantes like Hassan Masood--who has in fact acted for the first time in life, Ahmed Rubel, Aupi Karim, Joya Masood, Ilora Gaohor, Marzuk Russel, Arman Pervez Murad, Shohag, Sumaiya Shimu and Moutushi have done brilliant.

The film will be aired on Channel-i at 3 pm on the Eid day.
