TV viewers might get their sets ready to accommodate another channel from March. For, a 24-hour Bangla music channel named Bangla Music is expected to start it's operation from the first week of next month.Enamul Kabir Sujan, the Director of Programmes for the digital channel, said in a press release that the channel aims at popularising Bangla songs by reviving old tunes, providing opportunity for new talents, presenting Bangla songs in modern moulds and by utilising the vast resources of Bangla folk music. With the slogan 'Non-stop Ananda' (Non-stop entertainment), the channel braves to compete with the existing non-Bangla music channels, said Sujan. Moreover, it would be the first ever Bangla music channel. The channel will be launched and operated from Delhi through InSat 3A, whose vertical polarisation is 3498 MH2 frequency. Bangla Music will be accessible from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Malaysia and the Middle East. Gradually, it will cover other parts of the world. No doubt, music lovers will welcome the new channel. But, the concerned authority perhaps could use Bangla words only in the slogan since the channel's priority is for the Bangla music.
