Probe into alleged scam by PSTU VC begins

A three-members government audit team on Saturday began probe into alleged corruption and financial irregularities done by Patuakhali Science and Technology University (PSTU) Vice-Chancellor Dr Prof A K M Abdl Hanan Bhuiyan.

On the other hand, students, teachers and staff of the university staged a joint token hunger strike on the campus on the day demanding the VC's removal for his alleged corruption and irregularities. They also held a rally, addressed by representatives of students, teachers, and employees. They are agitating since January 17 for the VC's removal.

The students earlier sent memoranda to the President and the Prime Minister's demanding probe into the allegations.

The VC, who left the campus before the last Eid-ul-Azha vacation, is yet to return to the campus.
