The victim has been identified as Prabhati Rani Mandol, 14, daughter of Dinabandhu Mandol of the village.

Quoting victim's relatives police said hoodlums, failing to make love with her, threw acid on her. She was critically injured in her chest, hands and face. She was rushed to Shyamnagar Health Complex.

On information, the Acid Survivors' Foundation came to her aid and shifted her to Dhaka for better treatment.

Victim's father Dino Bondhn Mondal filed a case with Shyamnagar thana.

However, none was arrested, police sources said.
