A cloth trader, abducted from Uttara in Dhaka on March 8, was rescued in Kishoreganj on Saturday. On his and family members return from Kushtia, miscreants abducted the trader, Abdur Razzak from Abdullahpur bus stand. Abductors left two telephone numbers and asked his wife Majeda Begum to contact them for payment of ransom amounting to 1.5 lakh taka. Failing to contact them Majeda sought help from Uttara police. On contact through the number, police arrested a member of the gang and came to know that Razzak was staying in Kishorganj. Meanwhile, Razzak ran to free himself from the clutch of two of his abductors in Barabazar area at 6 pm on the day. He cried aloud and told people nearby that he had been abducted from Uttara, Dhaka. On hearing the hue and cry, a patrol police team rescued him and caught two of his abductors Rafiqul Islam, 30, and Mohammad Anju Miah, 35, from the spot.
