According to the Detective Branch (DB) of Police, Anar was absconding after the murder. Acting on a secret information, a police team headed by the In-Charge of DB of Police, Kaysar Ali Khan raided Brahmanbaria railway station while Anar was going to Dhaka. Sensing police presence of police Anar tried to escape. But the police team foiled his bid and nabbed him. He was sent to court.

Anar is an accused in several cases including murder, highway robbery and smuggling.
