Housewife dies of burns at DMCH

A housewife, who suffered severe burns on March 12, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital Friday night.Yasmin Akhter, 25, was allegedly burnt by her husband and in-laws in Keraniganj for dowry. She struggled for life seven days with 90 percent burns. Her father Abul Hares filed a case, accusing seven including her husband Ali Ahmad and Omar Ali, under Women and Children Repression Prevention Act with Keraniganj Police Station on March 14. According to the FIR (first information report), the accused, who are absconding since the incident, committed the crime as Hares declined to send Ali abroad.
