Caab security supervisor killed in city road accident

A security supervisor of Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (Caab) died in a road accident in the capital yesterday.A speeding vehicle knocked down Mohammad Mojibul Hoque, security supervisor of the Caab, in front of Shahin College on Airport Road at about 2:45pm when he was crossing the busy road, police said. Police admitted him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) with broken legs and severe head injuries. The 60-year-old man, also a retired air force officer, died there at 4:00pm, police added. However, police failed to seize the vehicle or nab its driver till the writing of this report at 6:30 last evening. In another accident, a speeding truck (Dhaka Na- 2123) hit Ariful Islam, 24, at Jatrabari intersection at around 11:00pm on Friday when he was crossing the road. He was rushed to the DMCH where doctors declared him dead at around 12:00 midnight, sources said. Police seized the truck and took its driver to custody, they added.
