Criminal shot cop, informant to escape

A listed criminal of Lalbagh area of the city escaped arrest by firing on a police team last night that left a Detective Branch (DB) havilder and an informant of police injured.Acting on a tip off, a team of six DB personnel along with two informants rushed to Sat Shaheed Community Centre to nab listed criminal Rajib Iqbal Mintu and some of his accomplices. Informant Babul grabbed Rajib, who then shot him in the abdomen and leg. Havilder Mohammad Al Mamun then pounced on the crimnial but he shot Mamun in the leg and fled. Both the injured were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
