Unite to rid country of dirty politics: Dr Kamal
Body to probe killing of garment worker

Gano Forum President Dr Kamal Hossain yesterday called for unity to rid the nation of crimes and dirty politics.

Expressing concern over the prevailing situation, he said the people are now subjected to putrid politics and the politicians are dependent on black money, criminals and communalism.

The nation must be freed from the decaying situation, he told a meeting organised by the Progressive Lawyers' Front.

Dr Kamal, an eminent lawyer, said people should be made aware of the situation by exposing the politicians who were making politics corrupt.

He announced the formation of a people's inquiry commission with former chief justice Habibur Rahman as its convenor to probe November 3 killing of a garment worker and repression on garment workers in Narayanganj.

Other members of the commission are advocate Shafiq Ahmed and economist Dr Protima Pal Majumder.

The commission will start working in three or four days, he added.

Khaliquzzaman, Abdullah Sarkar, Delwar Hossain and advocate Ishaq also spoke at the meeting.
