Applicants will have to pay an additional Tk 400 with the current visa fee. The new centre will make initial processing to set an interview date if required.

However, the consular and visa section in the high commission in Dhaka will be the final authority to issue visas after checking papers and documents of the applicants.

Under the new arrangement, a commercial organisation will receive applications and pass those to the high commission.

The new procedure has been introduced to provide the growing number of Bangladeshi visa applicants with better service, said a press release of the high commission. The new system will help them have a definite appointment date rather than to face a long queue every day with no guarantee of interview time.
