A gang of muggers waylaid Asaduzzaman, a resident of Ruhitpur, at gunpoint about five km south of Keraniganj Police Station when he was returning home by auto-rickshaw at about 2:30pm and robbed him of the money.

He was returning from Konakhola Sub-register's Office with the money after he failed to break a deal to purchase a piece of land.

A case was lodged, police failed to arrest anyone till 6:30 in the evening.
