Havilder murder: PBCP claims responsibility

The Janajuddho faction of PBCP (Purba Banglar Communist Party) has claimed responsibility for Havilder Akram Hossain's murder.

He was killed in a bomb attack Saturday night near the power house crossing in the city.

Police Commissioner Shaikh Sajjad Ali admitted that he had received a call from the outlawed party over mobile phone soon after the murder of Havilder Akram Hossain.

The caller, who identified himself as Ripon Ahmed, secretary of Khulna-Bagerhat regional committee of PBCP (J), claimed responsibility for the murder, he said.

"All the five police stations in the metropolitan city are on high alert since the bomb attack", Shaikh Sajjad Ali said.

The bomb attack on Moilapota police again on Monday evening was launched to create panic among law enforcers, he said.

Police could not arrest any one in connection with murder of Havilder Akram Hossain although 12 outlaws have been named in the FIR as accused.

The 12 include Shumon alias Sharifuzzaman alias Ripon Ahmed.

"We are trying our best to arrest the FIR-named accused who are moving in guise taking advantage of the inefficiency of KMP's intelligence branch", said DC (South) Akbar Ali.
