Paddy-loaded truck yet to be recovered

A paddy-loaded truck is yet to be rescued after being hijacked by armed miscreants from Sathibari on the Rangpur-Bogra Highway on April 14.

The truck was heading towards Ishurdy with 209 bags of paddy worth about two lakh taka from Chirirbandar in Dinajpur district. About 10 to 11 miscreants on board a three-ton pick-up followed the truck from Mithapukur. The pick-up created a barricade overtaking the truck at Sathibari. The miscreants picked up the truck driver Dablu Mia, helper Shameem and paddy owner Minerul Islam at arms point and compelled them to climb on the vehicle. Then the miscreants took control of steering of the truck and fled away.
