Blair is back to his domestic woes

Any cheer gained by British Prime Minister Tony Blair from an Easter holiday and a mutual back-slapping summit with US President George W. Bush looks set to evaporate fast this week as he returns to an increasingly hostile set of domestic critics. The embattled premier had an instant and unwelcome reminder of his current woes on Saturday, as he returned to Downing Street to find a small but vocal demonstration against the Iraq war positioned outside the gates. Blair used the Easter recess of Britain's parliament to escape his critics with a family break in Bermuda. From there he flew Thursday for a meeting with United Nations chief Kofi Annan, followed by talks with Bush at the White House, where the two allies in Iraq made a strong show of unity at a subsequent joint press conference.
