Duties on spices cut

The duties on import of garlic, dry chilli, ginger and turmeric have been reduced by 15 percent from the existing rates of 22.5 percent to 30 percent, according to the National Board of Revenue (NBR) sources.The government has decided to allow import of these items through all land ports to ensure adequate supply in the market, the sources said.
