Police quoted family members as saying a gang of 25 stormed into the house of Nasir Sarder at Raninagar village at about 4:00am, snatched the kid, Sagar, from his mother's lap and tossed him on the floor. Sagar died instantly.

Nasir's two brothers--Motiur Rahman and Rabiul Islam-were injured in the attack.
