Police to guard Ershad Shikder's grave till May 31

Police will be guarding the grave of dreaded homicidal killer Ershad Shikder at Tootpara graveyard in Khulna until May 31 amid fears that those who opposed his burial there may take away his body.

Armed police will remain on guard so that nobody can do any damage to the grave of Ershad, said DC (South) Akbar Ali of Khulna Metropolitan Police.

Ershad's first wife Khodeja, meanwhile, has sought security for her and her sons and daughter after she received death threats from unidentified callers on Tuesday night.

She and her children are not going out of their house in fear of attacks, she said.

Khodeja also said Ershad's family has been split into two groups over possession of his property.

OC Nesar Ahmed of Sonadanga thana said he was not aware of death threats issued to Khodeja and her children.
