Commemorative book launched

A commemorative book on writer and columnist late Khondokar Mazharul Karim was launched at a ceremony marking his birth anniversary.Professor Kabir Chowdhury launched the book at the programme organised by Khondokar Mazharul Karim Smrity Sangsad at the National Press Club in the city on Monday. Professor Zillur Rahman Siddiqui presided over the programme. The programme started with the presentation of Tagore's song Aaguner Porosh Moni by Nilufar Banu Lily. Later a discussion was held where the speakers recalled the contribution of the columnist. "Through his writings and beliefs, Karim reached close to the progressive people," said Professor Kabir Chowdhury. Professor Zillur Rahman Siddiqui said, "Karim's writings can inspire people to fight against fundamentalism and other evil forces."
